Many years ago I purchased freshly taken off 15" hubcaps from an '03 Accord and it really makes my van look more modern and up to date. WebDec 10, 2010 · Haven't painted these before so am taking it slow and trying to do it right. I polished the hub caps, didn't sand or scuff the painting surface, and applied numerous coats. That said, nothing stuck to the hub cap. IT all came off with the masking tape. I'm going to try again, this time scuffing the painting surface, prime and paint.
