If this is a performance build with a healthy cam, (more overlap than stock), it will run on pump gas. Unless you have something special in mind, I wouldn't put a lot of effort into a 6" rod.

WebJan 29, 2012 · There is a 1/4" difference in pin height between the two pistons plus the difference in piston top design (flat vs. dished) which brings the compression ratio up to 10.54:1 with a stock 4" bore, 4.5" stroke, and a .075" thick head gasket. There are 4 (fairly deep) valve reliefs so that the piston could be used on either side of the block. There is a little notch to indicate the front. I would think these pistons could use a fairly large cam without problems.
