I'm no expert but I have gleaned that the proxy alignment involves synchronising the body computer to the dash computer to ensure the CAN-bus works correctly. AFAIK you'd need a diagnostic interface that does CAN and then some software. Dealers have the software on their Examiner computer.

Yep, I did the Proxy Re-Alignment yesterday on my 147 using the newly released FES v3.0 and it worked perfectly.
